Planted in 2015 from New Vine Lakes, part of the New Vine Network, which started way back in 1996 at New Vine Church. This Network has flourished and now comprises six Baptist Churches in the Newcastle Region of NSW.
New Vine Vineyards first met at Potters Brewery, Nulkaba, which is just outside of Cessnock in the Hunter Valley in 2016 - 30 minutes from Newcastle.
Quickly, a small but committed team began to regularly meet, growing slowly as we experienced the grace and love of God. Over the next few years, we moved to St Phillips Christian College and onto Nulkaba Public School as we grew.
Post 2020, we felt God calling us to move 20 kms down the road into Huntlee / Branxton area at the Community Hall. This was specifically to bring a modern, new-age Church to where it was needed in one of the fastest-growing regions of NSW.
And so we began searching for a place to build a permanent residence for our Church. After 4 years of searching and fundraising in 2024 by God's grace, we were able to purchase a large block of land on Maitland St, Branxton. We are now building the first church in the region in over 100 years, which is so exciting!
In 2026, we temporarily moved into the Uniting Church Complex in Branxton; will we continue to build the main Church? Exciting times ahead.
It has been a brilliant journey of learning to follow God and love our neighbours.
But that is not the end of our story ... Join us as we build and grow with community over the next 20 years.
